This is an Antique Slatted-Back Artist’s Chair, produced in the 1920s in France. The piece is a true collector’s item, composed of raw wood and unfinished metal hardware. The chair has an adjustable mechanism to position a live model, utilized for drawing classes in the 1920s. The flat head screws underneath the seat are original to the piece, and the chair exhibits lots of wonderful patina.
This chair measures 15 inches deep, 13.5 inches wide, and 47 inches high. We have left this piece in its original condition to showcase its history. There are scuffs and scratches, and there are some darkened areas on the wood. Overall, this chair is in good condition. Please see photos.
