The studies are carefully sequenced, becoming slightly more challenging each week. This book is often paired with the 36 Wohlfahrt Studies for Guitar, both ideal for the second year of study.The term “jazz rhythms” simply means syncopated rhythms. Most music uses syncopation, particularly pop music, Latin music, and even classical music. Learning to read syncopation is an important step in learning to read music in order to play many styles of music, not just jazz.
