Utricularia graminifolia, commonly known as UG or Grass-leaved Bladderwort, is one of the most popular foreground plants in aquascaping. Famous for its soft, grass-like appearance, UG forms a dense, bright green carpet that brings a natural meadow effect to planted tanks. Despite belonging to the bladderwort family (carnivorous plants), UG is completely safe for aquariums—even for newborn baby shrimp—as its tiny traps only target microscopic organisms.
This plant is especially valued in nano tanks, Iwagumi layouts, and Nature-style aquascapes for its compact size, fluffy texture, and vibrant green coloration.
